Columbus film producer Linda Thornburg (of Thornburg Productions) is undertaking a project to independently produce a film entitled "Lilacs", a love story about two women in the 19th century. In order for the film to maintain its purity (so that big production companies don't start rewriting the story), it must be independently produced. The screenplay is written and several people such as Sandy Dennis and Lee Grant have expressed an interest in the film. In order to make the film, Linda will need to raise a minimum of $500,000. For more information about "Lilacs", you can contact Linda at (614) 267-9738 or at 749 Bevis Road, Columbus, Ohio 43202. What makes the Lilacs bloom? You do! WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO 30B PEPPARD?

Bob Peppard, former OGRC Board Trustee, and now expatriate in Chicago, is alive and well and enjoying living on Lake Michigan. He can be reached at (312) 248-8992 or 611 W. Patterson, #517, Chicago, IL 60613.

A GAY RIGHTS LAW IN OHIO...IN 1981?

At this time, it is hoped a comprehensive civil rights revision bill to include affectional or sexual orientation will be introduced into the Ohio General Assembly in 1981. OGRC people are working on that. But they need your help. First, they need to collect cases of discrimination---in jobs, housing, education, insurance, credit, public accommodations. If you have been a victim of discrimination because of your affectional or sexual orientation, please take a few minutes to write down the facts of the case, get it notarized if possible, and send it to George Painter, GRC, P.0. 3ox 8393, Columbus, Ohio 43201. A11 infomation will be helpful. Second, if you are interested in writing to your state legislators, OGRC will need to build a constituent network so that letters of support for Gay/Lesbian rights bills can be sent to members of the General Assembly. If you want to become a member of this network, send your name, address and telephone number to George Painter at the OGRC P.0. box. If you do not know the name(s) of the people representing you in the Statehouse, send your ward and precinct (if in a large city) or address to George and he will notify you of your State Senator and Representative's name and address and any known position they have taken on the Gay rights issue. You can help make it happen in Ohio.

ANITA A LITTLE BIT LONGER

In July the Florida Citrus Commission voted to extend Anita's $100,000-per year orange juice contract another year to August, 1980. Ever wonder where the money comes from to pay her? From the taxpayers. That's right, the Citrus Commission is a state agency.
